Steel quadrant-style compass with one straight leg with point and second channeled leg with ring and thumb nut for locking a wooden pencil in place. The radius of arc is set by moving the leg with pencil around a quadrant with a thumbscrew for locking. Fine adjustments can be made with yet another thumb nut on a spring-loaded shaft.
