Some sort of gauge made from a thin plate of wrought iron or steel. Along one edge of this plate a series of notches with arched or V-cut tops have been cut. With notch one at narrow end of the gauge, notch one is 9/16" D x 3/4" W, two about 1/2" x 5/8", three 3/8" x 1/2", four 9/16" x 1/2", five 9/16" x 13/16, and six 3/4" x 1 1/16."
