Scythe handle consisting of an iron ring with a threaded tang that fits through the center of a turned birch handle. An octagonal nut is set into the handle into which the ring tang is threaded. With the ring around the snathe, the handle could be turned to tighten the ring in place. The birch handle has an iron ferrule.
