Wood lathe fitted to a treadle sewing machine stand, used by Brother Ricardo Belden, Hancock, MA
Description
Miniature wood lathe fitted to a treadle sewing machine base. Lathe has 8" swing and accepts stock up to 9" long. Ways, head-, and tail-stock are cast iron with steel, three-jaw chucks holding drive and dead centers. Treadle mechanism of cast iron with round leather drive belt. Top, drawers, and trim are of walnut (solids and veneer).

From the workshop of Brother Ricardo Belden. Brother Ricardo was a clockmaker, so it is assumed that he turned parts for wood clock mechanisms on this lathe.
