Pitcher, Wash
Wash pitcher, Canterbury, NH
Description
A porcelain pitcher with a molded design just under the neck and transfer-printed floral sprays. The floral sprays comprise daisies, green leaves, and blue flowers on green stems, set against a pink ground. The floral sprays on the sides are larger than the ones on the front and back and are framed by the molded decoration. The front and back sprays are smaller than those on the sides. The molded decoration is made up of flourishes in a v-formation, which curl outward and meet end-to-end, with floral motifs at the meeting points and at the center of the "v". There is a fifth transfer-printed floral spray on the right side of the spout. From the back of the mouth extends a molded handle, which is secured to the body of the pitcher just before its widest width.
