Last, Shoe

Description

Wood block cut in the form of a shoe. The last has an almond-shaped toe. The height of the last increases toward the instep, then plateaus at the top in an elongated oval shape. Below the top is a through-hole. From the top the heel curve extends to the seat. The seat sides are curved to form the waist before growing to the widest point at the last joints then tapering to form the toe. The seat has no nail holes along the outside edge of the heel, but does have several nail holes from the joint to the toe and down the center of the last. The last has a two-tone color with a lighter brighter brown on top and a duller darker brown on the lower half of the last.
