Description

Three-gallon stoneware crock (a) and lid (b) with a salt glaze. The outside of the crock is a glossy grayish-tan and the inside is coated with a dark brown Albany slip. The crock features a cobalt slip-trailed floral motif. The crock has two lug handles, one on each side. The knob and top of the lid are coated in a glossy warm brown glaze surrounded by a band of matte orange bordered by a ridge. The rest of the outer and inner lid are a glossy grayish-tan. The rest of the inside of the lid is naked; a matte brown-yellow.
