Description

Wood block cut in the form of a left shoe. The last has a round toe with a complete toe cap, after which the last is cut at an obtuse angle and continues for 3/8". The last then continues at a sloping angle toward the top with an off-center hole near the top. In this space there should be an instep-wedge secured and made flush with the rest of the last. Above the instep in the top is a tube hole 9/16". The top of the the last is angled down toward the heel curve. Below the top there is a though-hole. From the top, the heel curve extends toward the seat. At about the mid-point of the heel curve there is a vertical metal staple. The seat's sides are curved to form the waist and then widen to the joint before tapering to the toe. Along the bottom of the wooden last is a steel plate which is formed to fit the bottom. At the heel and toe of the plate there are two metal nails. There are two holes in the plate - a small one at the waist and a larger one between the toe and joint.
