Description

Wood block cut in the form of a shoe. The last has a square toe with a complete toe cap, after which the last is cut at a right angle and continues for 1/4" where there is an off-center metal pin protruding. The last then continues at a sloping angle toward the top with an off-center hole near the top. In this space a wedge would be secured and made flush with the rest of the last. The top of the the last is parallel to the ground, with a slight dip in the center. Below the top there is a though-hole filled with a plaster-like substance. This substance fully blocks one side of the through-hole, but has an off-center small hole on the other side formed by a small piece of wood wedged into the plaster-like substance. From the top the heel curve extends to the seat. The heel curve is covered with brown leather and attached to the last with metal nails. The seat's sides are curved to form the waist and then widen to the joint before tapering to the toe. On the exterior joint a piece of brown leather is attached by both metal and wooden nails.
