Description
Sister Eliza Rayson (1834-1909) was photographed by James E. West for his series "Views of the North Family Shakers at Mt. Lebanon, New York," in the 1890s. Howard M. Gillet, of Lebanon Springs, New York, a photographer in his own right, apparently copied West's image, with our without his permission, to make postcards. The image was probably made by West between 1890 and 1905 and the postcard published by Gillet sometime after 1907.
