Description

Sister Amelia Calver was photographed by a Washington, D. C. photographer. It is likely that she was in Washington visiting her brother James Valentine Calver, a dentist in that city, who had once been a Shaker at Mount Lebanon. A second copy of this portrait of Sister Amelia in the Shaker Museum|Mount Lebanon Collection (Accession Number 1960.11763.1) presents the same image on a different mount. This suggests that someone ordered additional prints of the photograph at a later date.
