[Corinne Bishop's Room in the Church Family Dwelling, Mount Lebanon, NY]
1896-1910
Description
This is apparently a photograph of the interior of Sister Corinne Bishop's room in the Church Family Dwelling (1875). A second postcard 1950.4154.84 shows the same room. It was apparently made at the same time as this one. It shows a part of the young girls arm and a bit more of the left-hand side of this room. Sister Corinne came to live at Mount Lebanon's North Family in 1859. In 1863 she went to live at the Second Order of the Church Family (Center Family) and moved to the Church Family in 1896 when the two Orders of the Church Family combined. Accession number 1957.8966.1 was also apparently made at the same time as this one. The same young girl is in that photograph and there she is described as the daughter of the photographer, James E. West, however, if this photograph was taken after 1896 when Sister Corinne moved to the Church Family, Wests daughter, Maud Marinda West, born 1880, would have been at least 16 years old. The girl in the photograph appears to be five of six years old. See entry for 1957.8966.1 for more information.
