Inscribed, "Entering Mass, State Road." It appears that this photograph was made after the photographer had descended down off the mountain and had come onto the flats where the Hancock Shakers lived. The photograph is pasted in to an album titled: Views by the way from Sabbathday Lake to Alfred, Harvard, Hancock and Watervliet. Oct 6-16, 1915 By D. C. Wilson."
