Jug
Four-gallon stoneware jug used in the medicine department, Center Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Four-gallon stoneware jug with a salt glaze. The outside of the jug is a glossy tan, and the inside is coated with a dark brown Albany slip. The jug features a cobalt slip-trailed design of a bird on a leafy branch. What appear to be faint throw lines run up the jug to the base of the handle. The handle is cracked in two places and is attached to the curve of the neck and the thick lip of the jug.
