Description

Steam-bent box (a) and lid (b) hands of ring-porous wood, probably black ash. Three swallow tails on box band and one on lid band secured with copper tacks. Tack arrangement anomalous; no vertical row of tacks in center of swallow tails at mid-point from "v" to top and vertical row of tacks at center line is zig zag rather than vertically aligned. There are no headers, and no finish applied. Size corresponds to a #5 in Mount Lebanon 11-box series.
