Description

Oval piece of wood (possibly white pine) covered on both top and bottom with white embossed paper and all around its circumference with a red paper with a printed design in gold. A box was had been secured to this edge by copper gimp tacks but the wall is lost and only two gimp tacks remain. Four small between centers turned maple legs are attached to the underside that appear to have never had any finish applied.

Notes

This base was attached to a complete work box at some point and was apparently salvaged for reuse.
