Description
Plank-seat Windsor chair with thumb-back, steam-bent birch posts, four steam-bent birch back spindles, a steam-bent maple crest rail and four birch legs with birch stretchers. Four stretchers, one in the front and back, and on the sides. White pine seat, shape reminiscent of low-back Windsor dining chairs from Canterbury, New Hampshire. Legs taper slightly at top and bottom. Traces of yellow painted indicate the chair was originally painted yellow and varnished over.
