Description

Curly maple posts, ash stretchers, maple slats, maple tilters, plain weave cloth seat tape. Entire chair painted bright yellow that has aged to a mustardy color. Three back slats. Back slats are steeply chamfered on tops, and pommels are typical of Watervliet chairs. Chair equipped with maple tilters. Seat tape is exquisite; black with tan stripes and tan with darker orange-tan stripes with a single black thread. Well-executed weaving over a fabric cushion. Chair appears to have originally been painted yellow.
