Description

#3 Mount Lebanon production rocking chair. Maple; wool and cotton tape seat and back. Plain woven taped seat top and front of back; twill woven underside to seat and back of back. Pink and beige seat tape probably original (by same hand that taped seat of #13859). Beige tape is herringbone weave wool tape, badly damaged by moth/carpet beetles, while pink tape is cotton and undamaged by insects; both badly faded and soiled. Chair stained dark red-brown and varnished (?) over.Mount Lebanon Shakers Trademark decal on inside of right rocker.
