Crock

Description

Four-gallon stoneware crock and lid with a salt glaze. The outside of the crock is a glossy tan, and the inside is coated with a dark brown Albany slip. The crock features a cobalt slip-trailed floral and spiral motif. The crock has two lug handles, one on each side. What appears to be throwing lines run up the crock to the base of the handles. One groove runs around three-fourths of the base and two around the top of the crock. The knob and top of the lid are coated in a glossy yellow-brown glaze and the rest of the outer lid and inner lip are a glossy grayish-tan. The rest of the inside of the lid is naked; a matte yellow.
