Description

Sewing desk with gallery and six drawers, two drawers in desk. Gallery of walnut with interior dividers of poplar faced with walnut. Desk has turned walnut legs, aprons and drawer rails of poplar faced with walnut, and a cherry top. Gallery drawer fronts of cherry; remainder of poplar; a single porcelain knob is centered in each drawer front. Desk drawers also have cherry fronts and remainder of poplar. Each desk drawer has a face-turned walnut knob centered in front. All drawers are finely dovetailed. Top desk drawer has divided section in front, cherry components housed in dados in front and sides. Clear finish. Poplar aprons stained walnut before clear-coating.

Notes

The initials "AMG" may stand for Sister Anna Maria Greaves, who from the age of 16 lived at the Mount Lebanon Church Family.
