Description

Spool stand of birch turnings, six brass-plated steel wires for spool spindles, a maroon velvet "tomato" style pincushion, a portion of a bee's wax cake and a poplar-ware needle case. The birch base and pincushion cup are face-turned, the standard is turned between-centers. The wax cake and needle case are affixed to the pincushion with red satin ribbons. The needle case is woven poplar outside, embossed shiny white paper inside and edged with white paper. Inside are two white wool leaves with pinked edges for needles.
