Description

Lidded oval box with steam-bent maple box (a) and lid (b) rims. Two swallow-tails on the box, and one on the lid, secured with copper tacks. White pine headers secured with copper points. Exterior of the box varnished over natural color of the woods. The lid is heavily carved with a recessed, intertwined "LB". Lid may have been made for a previously existing box; made from a different piece of maple, and swallow-tail cut differently.
