Bench
Bench, Mount Lebanon, NY
1853
Description
Bench of walnut with white pine seat. Turned legs and front arm supports as well as crest supports in back are tenoned into cleats and undersides of arms and crest rail. Cleats and other trim secured with steel flat-head wood screws. Painted salmon or red originally.
Notes
The bench was removed to Hancock, MA after the Mount Lebanon community was closed in 1947. Sister Jennie Wells recalled seeing the bench in the dining room of the Mount Lebanon Church Family. It probably originally had seat cushions.
