Hook, Last
Shoe last hook, North Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Last hook. Cylindrical turned wooden handle. Handle's ends and middle have the same circumference, but between them the handle tapers and expands again, giving the handle a slight dip in its shape. The handle has five turn lines: one at each end and a set of three at the center of the handle. The center turn lines are interrupted by a circular cut-out 9/16" to accommodate the last hook. The hook's tang extends outward from the handle for 1 1/2" before curving down and quickly turning upward, to create the hook, which stands perpendicular to the handle.
