Description

Firewood box of white pine with iron butt hinges securing the top to the box. Interior has divider yielding a large cavity for wood storage and a much smaller cavity for kindling storage. Bottom screwed to bottom edges of box from underneath. All four corners of box are nicely dovetailed. Constructed as a six-board chest; all surfaces are single width boards. Box painted or washed yellow but much of the color has worn or faded away.
