Object ID:

Community:
New York, Mount Lebanon
Description

Ellipse of white pine with 7 1/16" diameter holes drilled along and parallel to one long edge. The pine ellipse was knife cut from both sides simultaneously.

Notes

Probably intended to have been a top for a poplarware table-top stand. The pine ellipse would have been covered with woven poplar or palm leaf, a gallery attached using the seven holes and four short legs attached to the underside.
