#3 production rocking chair with arms, South Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Maple and birch turnings, maple arms, and rocker blades. Tape seat and back. Wire nails secure rockers and pin mortise and tenon joints. Seat tape appears to be original to chair; plain weave all surfaces. Seat tape is tan and tan with pink and black stripes. Chair has natural finish. Decal label on inside of right rocker.
Notes
Decal label on inside of right rocker is for a #5 chair, but this chair matches the dimensions of other #3 rockers in the museum's collection.
