Dark black ash splint. Square bottom to round rim. Split rim with rawhide lashing. Double grip "ear" handles that come down on the outside. Four cleats on bottom. Numerous white paint marks and spots.
"Z &" was a building code used at Mount Lebanon to indicate that the basket was used in the sawmill.
