Oval box stained yellow, inscribed "Josephine Elie Ware(?) / 6th of December, 1860," Canterbury, NH
Description
Maple box (a) with lid (b). Rims steam-bent to an elliptical shape and held by copper tacks through swallowtails (four on the box, one one the lid). White pine headers secured with copper points. Washed with bright yellow paint. A paper label originally read "Blue Satin Ribbon".
