Description

White pine between-centers turned kitten-head basket mold (a). Top carved to a square, with a relieved surface. Bottom turned to a 3/16" x 1 3/16" spigot and a 5/8" hole is blind drilled approximately through its center into the body of the mold. There are scribes at 3/8", 5/8", 13/16" and 1" from the top. Between-centers turned handle made of maple with constriction at the mid-point of the length (b). The handle is slightly tapered from 11/16" at the mid-point to 1/2" at the ends.
