Description

(a) articulated doll with ceramic head and arms (from elbow down). Body likely stuffed with sawdust and covered with white leather and (from knee down) cotton fabric metal pins at joints. Clothing: (b) dress with bertha (c), white cotton pantaloons (d), chemise (e) and petticoat (f) - all with pink silk ribbon ties; one pair black cotton socks (g, h), shoes (j,k), bonnet (i).

Notes

Dressed by Sister Jennie Wells; the dress and bertha were made from Shaker woven material.
