Description

Circular basket of black ash splint. Split rim with single lashing. The rim is half-round on the interior and exterior. Twilled base with "quatrefoil" pattern. Two cross strips at the bottom extend up the sides. Two "ear" handles, attached on the interior.

Notes

According to Martha Wetherbee, co-author of "Shaker Baskets," the quatrefoil weave is unique to baskets made at Mount Lebanon.
