Description

Circular splint basket. Solid bottom made of birch or maple. Split rim with single lashing. Dado around exterior into which uprights are inserted. Underside of base dadoed at right angles in the center which house two heavy uprights woven into the sides over the regular upright, both nailed into the bottom and into the base of the regular upright. Double-notched ear handles attached to exterior, inscribed "JK".

Notes

The initials "JK" are believed to refer to Elder John Kaime (1791-1877).
