Oval box with sugar maple rims and white pine headers. Swallow-tails inserted through the walls of the box and lid. Swallow-tails and headers secured with wooden pegs; swallow-tail tips also secured with copper tacks. Sides opposite the swallow-tails decorated with painted red flowers and drops, and green leaves. Exterior varnished.
