Sewing desk of frame and panel construction with maple posts, stiles, and rails. Panels are of white pine, as are the drawer fronts and the entire frame and panel door centered in the gallery. The work surface is bird's-eye maple while the pull-out is white pine including the bread-board ends. The six gallery drawers have basswood sides and bottoms and pine backs. The four drawers opening to the base front are entirely constructed of pine, as are the three drawers opening to the proper left end. All drawer pulls are face-turned maple. The corner posts have turned feet as well. The door has brass hinges and spring latch. The piece has a red wash varnished over on exterior surfaces. Drawers are butted and nailed.
