Description
Spinning wheel for wool. Base (a) has oak beam and cherry turnings - legs, wheel post, and head post. Head post has ivory ferrule at top and no head. Wheel has cherry hub, 10 spokes, and a steam-bent two piece rim of ash. Wheel rotates or an iron axle. Natural finish.
Notes
The initials "TC" are for Thomas Cushman, who made flax and wool wheels while trustee at Alfred, ME from 1801 to 1809.
