Lidded box of tin-plated sheet metal, joints crimped and soldered. Hinges for lid surface soldered to box and lid. Lock hasp pivots on wire around which lid rim is rolled and closes over a strap soldered to front of box. Box painted or japanned. Looks black at this time, but has reddish overtone.
