Leather knife, Hancock, MA
Description
Straight-back metal blade which grows in width and curves toward the spine to form a point. The blade is set into a turned wooden handle; this joint is reinforced by a brass ferrule 15/32" long. Just below the brass ferrule the handle has a short lip. After the lip, the diameter of the handle is the smallest and then grows in width, becoming bulbous, and then rounding off at the end. The wood of the handle is heavily grained.
