Stabbing awl, Canterbury, NH
Description
Stabbing awl with a 7/16" long blade. The blade has a square base and tapers to a point. The base is set into a turned wooden handle. The handle is shaped like a drumstick, in that where it meets the blade it is bulbous, tapers and then grows exponentially toward the base before rounding off into a flat butt. The grain to the wood mirrors the shape of the handle.
