Description
Steam-bent maple carrier rim with three swallow-tails secured with copper tacks. Vertical row of tacks at the center line covered by the handle. White pine bottom header held with a mix of copper and iron tacks. Steam-bent hickory handle fastened to either side with nine copper tacks. Painted gray or white inside and out, except for the interior of the bottom. The carrier has been cut down at some point, as the bottom swallow-tail is cut through, just below the level of the tapered tip. Originally contained forms, probably for fancy goods.
