Temple with adjustable length end of cherry, fixed end of a very soft hardwood, a block of bone with a tongue on either side which ride in dados on the inside of the fork-like fixed end. The ends of the temple are chamfered to a point and sheathed with sheet iron or steel with points protruding from their ends.
