Well worn sharpening stone (a) mounted in a box (b) made from a black of walnut. Interior has carved recess in top and bottom; stone is secured in bottom such that the top closes over stone. Top hinged with iron butt hinges. A pine board is nailed to the bottom of the box which is dadoed to fit over the rail on the outer way of lathe 1952.6055.1.
