Edge iron, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Wooden forepart iron or shoulder stick. The body of the tool has a rounded rectangular shape. The forepart iron is created by the cutting down of the stick leaving one semi-circular side that extends for 15/32" and the rest of that end with a slight slant. All sides extends from the iron with the top side increasing exponentially in size, giving the tool a foot-like shape. The bottom of the "foot" is also a rounded rectangle with a light curve just before it meets the top of the tool.
