Description

(a) roll of "poplar" because it was cut from tree. Cut only in winter (no sap), split, then thoroughly dried. Later it was moistened and woven on machines. Then pasted to linen and used to cover small work boxes. (b) wood dowel with cherry finish 7/8" in diameter; 7 7/8" long.
