Description

Beautifully made orchard ladder of tripod design. Six treads plus top; bottom two treads supported from beneath by hardwood dowels, 1" diameter, that run through the uprights that rest on the ground as well as the uprights in which the tread ends are dadoed. The third and sixth treads are supported by iron rods through the tread uprights. The third leg pivots on another 1" diameter dowel and is pinched together about two-thirds of the way to bottom end so that only three legs actually rest on the ground. The ladder is painted dark red so identification of woods is tenuous, but likely mostly pine.
