Description

Case of three shelves and top in pine. The three shelves are slightly round of the front edge of the ends and the shelf edges are slightly rounded and chambered 1/2" or so from ends to merge with edges of ends. Underside of shelves are chamfered at the ends as well so that the shelf ends fit into dadoes in the insides of the ends. The top has rounded and chamfered edges as well. It is nailed into a rebate at the proper left end but the proper right end is butted to the underside of the top at that end and the top is simply nailed through the top into the end grain at the butt. The case has four vertical tongue-and-groove boards which extend to the bottom of the ends and are surface nailed to the back edges of the ends, shelves, and top. The case is painted red. There are two wire "eyes" at each end at the front of the top and a brass (or brass-plated) screw hook near the top center of the outside of the proper left end.
