Description
Copper pot (a) with 1-piece side jointed with a soldered crimp. Bottom crimped and soldered to bottom edge of side. Rim is wire rolled. A pouring spout with rolled rim is riveted and soldered to side opposite the crimp joint. The portion of the side covered by the spout is perforated. A copper strap handle is riveted and soldered over the crimp opposite the spout and two brass ears are riveted to the side just below the rim. A brass wire bail is looped through holes in these ears. The copper lid (b) appears to have been stamped to shape and a porcelain knob is affixed to the top by means of a wood screw inserted through the knob and the top and soldered to the inside. The interior of both the pot and the lid are tinned.
