Description

The metal blade of the awl is 7/8" long, oval in cross-section, and tapers to a point. The blade is set into a turned-wood necked sewing-awl haft (or handle). The haft has a metal conical ferrule 31/32" long. The ferrule has slightly separated from the handle leaving a small lip visible. The diameter of the handle gets increasingly wider, reaches its maximum width and then tapers creating a symmetrical body. At this point the handle has a slight neck leading to a mushroom-shaped base.
