Oval box lid band of vertically sawn aspen veneer. Outer face is planed and inner face is rough sawn. Veneer is swallow tail cut, with a tapered overlap end. Sides of band are not cut to parallel so width of band varied from 23/32" at start of swallow tail to 1/2" at overlap end.
